Recently, I have read letters from Bobbie Coray supporters who characterize her as the best person to represent the values of Utah and the 1st Congressional District. Well, I think it is time that we are reminded of a few facts.
First, President Clinton and the liberals finished third in Utah in the last presidential election. This very conservative state was won by George Bush and the Republicans. So is it possible that a liberal can represent the values of Utah?Second, the 1st Congressional District is very conservative and is not very friendly to liberal ideas such as the pro-choice movement or Clinton's Brady bill or the Crime Bill, which Coray strongly supports. So is it possible that a Clinton liberal can represent the values of the 1st Congressional District?
The answer to all of these questions is no, which brings me to my final solution. Send Jim Hansen back to Washington, because after all it is very hard for a liberal who endorses Clinton and his liberal politics to represent the conservative state of Utah and, for that matter, the very conservative 1st Congressional District.
