Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Colene Williams Hirabayashi, 59, returned home to her Father-in-Heaven on November 7, 1994, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February 26, 1935 in Provo, Utah, a daughter of Jack Lee and Olive Leetham Williams. She married Owen Richardson in 1953; later divorced. Other marriages to Richard D. Wing and Dick Hirabayashi.She was a member of the Clearfield 2nd LDS Ward, and had served in the Relief Society presidency, on the Relief Society Board, and as a teacher of Sunday School and Primary.
She was employed by Davis County as a school bus driver. In 1991 she received the "Utah State Bus Driver Of The Year" award, and in May of 1992 was recognized as the Utah State "Classified Employee Of The Year". She taught bus safety and helped train new drivers. She loved her work and the children she transported. She also worked for 20 years as a Jafra consultant, and did color analysis. She will be missed by all those she came in contact with.
She is survived by one daughter, Anne Roberts and husband, Rick, of Bountiful; four sons, Alan W. Richardson and wife, Jana, of Clearfield; Paul G. Richardson and wife, Cheri, of Salt Lake City; Mark E. Wing, Steven R. Wing, a special stepdaughter, Teri L. Omoto and husband, Glenn, of Thornton, Colorado; eight loving grandchildren, Justin (currently serving an LDS mission in the Dominican Republic), Phillip, Jamie, Heidi, Lisa, Amber, Robbie, and Devin. Also surviving are four brothers, Jack Lee Williams (Evy), Wayne Williams (Marie), Denton Alexander (Marie), David Alexander (Sue), and one sister, Joyce Boot (Nicholas).
She was loved by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12 at the Clearfield 2nd Ward Chapel, 935 So. State, Clearfield, 11 a.m. Friends may call at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Friday evening Nov 11, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday morning 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Lindquist's Memorial Park, 1801 North Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
Colene's children would like to extend their deepest and most sincere appreciation to all the family members, neighbors, co-workers and friends who assisted in the care and comfort of our mother during this very difficult time in our lives. The family would also like to express gratitude to Hospice of Northern Utah for their services, and respectfully requests donations to Hospice in Colene's name.
