LTC. Byron S. Easton, USA, retired, returned to his Heavenly Father November 7, 1994 at his home.
He was born May 12, 1935 to Andrew Cupples and Alta Stookey Easton in Kemmerer, Wyoming. He married Donna Mae Zenger in the Salt Lake Temple on May 5, 1945; they were later divorced. They had eight children.He married Ellen Pewtress on October 22, 1966 in Kansas City, Kansas; their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on May 12, 1993.
Byron served in the U.S. Army for 27 years, during that time he served in Lours in Germany, Korea, Japan, and several stateside locations. He was awarded many medals including the Legion of Merit. He moved to Tooele in 1978, built his own auto repair shop and operated it for several years. He loved Tooele and the people he dealt with.
"By" was a kind, loving husband and father. How we loved him and will miss him even knowing he's in a better place.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen Easton; and children, Cheryl Easton-Okubo, Bountiful; Vicki and Brian Fryday, Many, Louisiana; David Easton, Murray; Terry and Elvin Allen, Bennion; Steven and Karen Easton, Richardson, Texas; Tamera and Dane Hammond, Salt Lake City; Drew and Hejke Easton, Colberg, Germany; Diana and Vill Osborne, West Jordan; Tim and Marilyn Hanson, Tooele; Dale and Christi Easton, North Salt Lake; 27 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Jean Anderson and Edna Joy Hatcher, of Anchorage, Alaska. Preceded in death by parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held November 14, 1994, at 1 p.m., in the Tooele 16th Ward Chapel, 1100 Skyline Drive, Tooele. Friends and family may visit at the church, two hour prior to the service. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
