Alfred J. (Al) Chapman died November 8, 1994 in Heber City, Utah.
Born March 9, 1907 in Heber City to John M. and Jennie A. Dahlman Chapman, the fourth child in a family of nine. Married Melba McAffee October 19, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Grew up in Heber City, graduated from Wasatch High School and attended USAC in Logan, Utah. He was a building contractor for 35 years, built schools, hospitals, churches and many homes in Dutch John, Utah. He was a kind and loving father and husband. His family came first and meant everything to him.
Survived by wife of Heber City; children, Beva (Roy) Maxwell, Heber City; Joanne (Evan) Kohler, Paradise, Calif.; Nile M. (Ranae) Chapman, Roosevelt; Alene Watson, Salt Lake City; Karen (Russell) Crook, Kanosh; 23 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Arthur O. Chapman, Orem; Frank S. Chapman and Inez C. Wilson, Heber City. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nila Rae Asay and grandson, Blaine A. Welch; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services Saturday, 12 noon, in the Heber 6th Ward, 300 East 500 North. Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary Friday, 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday, one hour prior to services.
Burial, Heber City Cemetery.
