Veda Webb Jentzsch, age 97, passed away November 7, 1994 in Bountiful.
She was born August 18, 1903 in Hinckley, Utah, a daughter of Samuel and Laura Stout Webb. She married Carl E. Jentzsch March 11, 1922 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away October 1991.She was a member of the LDS Church. Veda was known as "Greyhound Granny," traveling to help her family. Veda was a writer, poet, musician, gardener, professional cook and housekeeper; started the first state school lunch program in Centerville; a volunteer for the Utah Center for the Blind.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Carl Jentzsch, Van Nuys, Calif.; Frank Jentzsch, Salt Lake City; Donald Jentzsch, Brooks, Oregon; Eugenia Chapman, Centerville; Joan Scott, Los Banos, Calif.; Gerry Kenny, Ashland, Oregon; 32 grandchildren; 130 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Warren Webb, Calvin D.H. Webb, both of Salt Lake City; Garda Jentzsch, Oregon; she was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, brothers, Golden Webb, Keith Webb, and Sterling Webb; sisters, Clarinda (Dolly) Hawks, Nada Webb, and Laura Webb.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, 1994 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Centerville City Cemetery.
She has touched many lives with her wit, sense of humor, friendship, wisdom, and her talents, and a very positive attitude and a deep abiding faith. We will miss her.
