While Utah spends millions of dollars in a gamble to get the Olympic bid, our governor gives up on a very promising appeal - promising according to the attorneys who have been defending out state's 1991 anti-abortion law. The legal costs for this anti-abortion effort have been approximately $800,000 - $200,000 under the $1 million appropriated by the Utah Legislature to defend our law.
Jan Graham, our attorney general, who is supposed to impartially defend this law, is openly pro-choice. Her campaign was financed significantly by pro-choice groups. Her allegiance is to them - not to the protection of life or the people of this state.Laurel C. Jorgensen
