The voters have spoken; we will have a new Congress in January. There will be attempts to call a lame-duck session of Congress to pass legislation before the new Congress convenes. There is no emergency in our country today that requires immediate passage of corrective legislation in the next two months.
Good legislation will still be good and pass next year when the new Congress convenes. Bad legislation shouldn't get a chance. Just say no to any and all legislation that comes before the present Congress, good or bad.President Clinton wants Congress to reconvene to pass GATT. Just say no and let our senators and representatives know your opinion, too. GATT is bad for our country. It is not about free trade, it is about "world government" and attempts to infringe on the ability of our country to govern its own affairs.
