In the Wasatch County race for Commission Seat A, Democrat Keith Jacobson meets Republican Gene Probst. For Commission Seat B, Republican Sharron Winterton faces Democrat Richard Bonner.
Jacobson, Heber City, is a 19-year employee of Utah Power and a Heber city councilman for 15 years. Probst spent 12 years as Midway's mayor after eight on the City Council. Winterton is a Charleston dairyman; Bonner is a sheet-metal worker and school board member from Heber City.Other county races are: assessor - Republican Glen Burgener, incumbent, unopposed; attorney - Republican Dan Matthews, incumbent, unopposed; clerk/auditor - Republican Brent Tit-comb vs. Democrat Sherry Bond, incumbent (appointed); and recorder/
surveyor - Democrat Liz Parcell vs. Republican Alan Cluff.
Also, sheriff - Republican Michael Spanos, incumbent, vs. Democrat Lance Gardner and write-in candidate Ed Thacker; and two former county treasurers are seeking to regain that office: Democrat Carolyn Kirkham and Republican Ron Crittenden.
In state House District 54, Democrat Guy Taylor, Duchesne, challenges four-term Rep. Beverly Ann Evans, R-Altamont.
