"Music Through the Ages" will be the theme of this year's Utah Music Teachers Association convention, to be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12, at the Salt Lake Hilton.
Nonmembers as well as members are invited to join the group for lectures, workshops and music from the baroque era to the present day featuring such artists and teachers as James Prigmore, Diana Page, Douglas Bush, Solveig Madsen, Bonnie Gritton, Harrison Powley, Ardean Watts and Henry Wolking.Sessions begin Friday at 8 a.m., with a student recital from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and a concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Featured will be the early-music group Musica Reservata, performing in period costumes on period instruments.
The fee is $80 for both days, including a Saturday luncheon. For information call 363-2304.
