Sarah Jane Miller Niederhauser, 88 of Logan, passed away Thursday, November 3, 1994 at the home of her daughter in Salt Lake City of congestive heart failure.
She was born December 5, 1905 in Paradise, Utah to Fredrick Franklin and Catherine Ann James Miller. When still a baby, her family moved to Hyrum on a large farm, where she grew up.She married Rudolph Niederhauser on October 20, 1927 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on March 22, 1933. They purchased a home in Logan where she lived for sixty years.
She enjoyed working in the Relief Society in the original 10th Ward. Rudolph and Jane made weekly trips to the Logan Temple, giving rides to widows and neighbors. She was a member of the Eliza Nyman Olsen Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was a thoughtful and kind friend and neighbor. She loved to cook and would feed everyone who came to her home.
She is survived by two daughters, two sons and their spouses: Gloria and Walter Svedin, of Orem; Carol and Merlin Sampson, of Salt Lake; Max and Ida Niederhauser, of Providence, Clyde and Judy Niederhauser, of Ogden; 25 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Lula and Norman Baldwin, of Ogden. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 24, 1980.
The family wishes to thank her neighbors and friends for their thoughtful and loving care in her later years, especially Ruth and Lynn Stoker.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Wednesday, November 9, 1994 in the Cranney Mortuary Chapel, 420 East 1800 North in Logan. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday morning 10 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
