In District 1, longtime board member Maurine C. Jensen is being challenged by political newcomer Mark E. Hurst. There is no contest in District 2 since political newcomer Ellen S. Wallace is unopposed. Her earlier opponent withdrew from the race. Facing off in District 3 are political newcomers Ann C. Forbush and Dick Loomis. They are running for the seat formerly held by board member Rodney Dahl, who was defeated in the primary election.
