HIJACKED: An Olympic Airways plane was hijacked on a flight from Germany to Greece Tuesday. The hijacker was detained after freeing 77 passengers and crew members unharmed in Salonica, police said. The hijacker, identified as Kostas Tsenekides, 24, claimed to have planted a bomb under one of the seats, police said. No bomb was found, and police and airline officials said Tsenekides may have been carrying out a prank to draw attention to himself because he was disappointed by a love affair.REINDEER: Japan's Health Ministry told an importer Tuesday to return reindeer meat to Finland because it contained high levels of radioactivity. "We ordered the importer to send it back to Finland," a ministry spokesman said. The ministry detected "higher than acceptable" levels of radioactivity in the 90 pounds of meat imported from Finland, he said. The ministry believed the radiation stemmed from fallout from the 1986 Cher-nobyl nuclear disaster in the then Soviet Union, he said.

HOUSE: Marilyn Monroe's four-bedroom house where her nude body was found 32 years ago has been sold and may be demolished to make way for a new home, a television station reported Tuesday. KNBC-TV said the secluded residence in the posh Brentwood district of Los Angeles had been bought by film director Michael Ritchie, whose credits include "The Bad News Bears" and "Fletch." KNBC quoted real estate agent Linda Berg as saying the house had an "awkward floor plan and very small, dark rooms." She said Ritchie bought the home for its land and his plan was "to tear it down and build something wonderful."
