"Beginnings," an original theatrical piece co-authored by Tobin Atkinson and Katherine Kingston, will premiere Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The piece is compilation of a variety of short ethnic stories - tales from all over the world."There's one from West Africa, an Eskimo story and one from Japan," said Atkinson.

The cast of seven performers, including five from the University of Utah's Actor Training Program, will be faceless - acting behind puppets and masks.

The cast includes Thomas Cook, Noe McKenna, Adam Smoot, Enid Atkinson (Tobin's sister) and Kingston, all from the ATP, along with Cheryl Ann Cluff, Tobin's Plan B Productions assistant producing director, and Atkinson.

Atkinson cautions that many of the stories were written by adults for adults "and we pulled no punches when we adapted them." Only children 8 years of age or older should attend.
