United Way of Utah County is looking for individuals and groups to sponsor less-fortunate families this Christmas season through the Sub-for-Santa program.
Subs-for-Santa matches families in need of Christmas help with local volunteers.Sponsors will be given the family's name, address and phone number, along with relevant information about the children, including age and sex. United Way expects sponsors to call the families and find out needs and sizes.
Sub-for-Santa asks each sponsor to provide two new items of clothing and two new toys for each child. Any additional gifts are optional. The sponsors are not encouraged to give the families money. Instead, United Way asks sponsors to provide families with needed items. All information regarding the sponsor is confidential.
Individuals or groups interested in sponsoring a local family can call Sub-for Santa at 375-2999 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.
