The Duchesne County government works well enough in its present setup, a huge majority of voters believe.

In the election Tuesday, they rejected a move to eliminate the three-member County Commission and replace it with a five-member council and county manager system.Commission candidates in Duchesne were vehemently opposed to the proposal - one of the only issues they held in common.

In complete but unofficial tallies, 2,334 cast ballots against changing the government, with only 676 in favor.
