Edith Steele Shelley, 96, died November 8, 1994 in Salt Lake.
Born May 21, 1898 in American Fork, a daughter of Joseph Dunn and Sarah Steele Shelley. She graduated from American Fork High School as Valedictorian. She attended Comptometer School in Salt Lake, worked at Auerbach and Strevell Petterson's for a few years, then at the Federal Reserve Bank in Salt Lake for 40 years.She was active in the LDS Church, fulfilled a mission in the Eastern States, worked in the Sunday School in American Fork, the Relief Society in Salt Lake, and was an ordinance worker at the Salt Lake Temple for 40 years. She was a member of the Estalami Society and the DUP. She did genealogical work for many years taking two short trips to England where she met four sixth cousins.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Velma Shelley, Ida Shelley, Mary Jane Chadwick, Nettie Shelley, Ella Shelley, and two brothers, Edward Dunn Shelley, Milton George Shelley. She is survived by a niece, Donna Shelley, one grandniece, Patricia Peterson, three great-grandnieces and two great-grandnephews.
Funeral Services Friday, 11 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.
