Cora Evans Franke, 60, died peacefully the end of October 1994 at her residence of natural causes.

Born September 2, 1934 in Ogden, Utah, daughter of Darrell Elijah and Margaret Berghout Evans. She was reared and educated in Salt Lake City graduating from West High School. Attended BYU in Provo and Weber State College in Ogden. Cora also resided in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona; Seattle, Washington; Riverside, California; and Denver, Colorado. Worked as a secretary in LDS Church Office Building for a short time. Married Donald William Franke October 14, 1954 in Pacific Grove, California; solemnized December 28, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were divorced in 1977.Cora had many musical talents and especially enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She also enjoyed painting, sewing and needlecraft. Member of the LDS Church and had served in many capacities in earlier years including Primary teacher. Enjoyed doing genealogy.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Donald B. (Lori) Franke, Kearns; Kathleen (Ward) Ogden, Ogden; Alan W. (Cindy) Franke, Roy; Eileen (Vance) Whetman, Cedar City; Aaron M. (Jennifer) Franke, Provo; 18 grandchildren; five brothers and one sister, James Evans, Riverside, California; Louis Evans, Newell Evans, both Salt Lake City; Marva Evans Calton, Fruit Heights; Ben Evans, Charles Evans, both Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by parents, two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 10, 1994, 11 a.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd., where friends and family may call 10-10:45 a.m. prior to funeral. Funeral services will be conducted by Phil Watkins of the Escalante Branch. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
