A ribbon cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the new Home Depot store at 1310 E. Park Centre Drive, is the prelude to the new facility being open to the public at 6 a.m. on Thursday.
Business professionals and community leaders will be among 800 people invited to the ceremony by store manager Mike Pulver during which Home Depot will present a $5,000 check to the new Christmas in April organization, which rehabilitates houses owned by the elderly and disabled.Store hours are 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday; and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday.
Based in Atlanta, Ga., Home Depot employs more than 63,000 people, including 170 in the new store. The chain is working to complete another store in the next few weeks at 2100 South and 300 West. The other Utah store recently opened in Riverdale, Weber County.
Earlier this year, Home Depot was recognized by Fortune Magazine as the most admired specialty retailer and the second most admired corporation in the United States.
