Dan Plesac, a three-time All-Star coming off consecutive subpar seasons with the Chicago Cubs, agreed Tuesday to a two-year contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates for $1.8 million. Plesac, 32, had 110 saves for Milwaukee from 1987-90 but only two over the past three seasons.
