Mark Kleven, former University of Utah baseball star, was named the new Brighton High baseball coach Wednesday morning. He replaces Doug Howard, who stepped down after 15 years as the Bengal skipper.

After playing with Utah from 1985-87, Kleven was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 1987. He has been an assistant coach with the U. the past three years.
