The outlook for jobs in the Salt Lake area during the January-March period will be satisfactory, according to Manpower Inc.

Twenty-three percent of the employers surveyed said they will increase their staffs during that period, 67 percent said they plan to remain at the same staffing levels and 10 percent plan to reduce their number of employees.Robert Katz, a Manpower official, said it isn't unusual for employers to be cautious about hiring plans this time of year, mainly due to winter-related production slowdowns and post-holiday staffing reductions.

He said the manpower outlook is stronger than three months ago when 17 percent said they would hire more employees and 10 percent expected to have fewer employees.
