Our loving husband, father, grandfather, relative and friend Reed, Mott Pierce, 74, passed away Dec. 9, 1994.

He was born July 2, 1920, in Torrey, Wayne County, Utah of goodly parents, Arthur Lee and Adelia Mott Pierce. His early years were spent in Torrey and Richfield. He graduated from Richfield High School in 1938 and was involved in sports activities, earning letters in basketball, football and track. His career as a Telecommunications Engineer was spent in the Western States, 30 years of which was spent in San Carlos, Calif., where he retired in 1984.He was a member of the LDS Church and served as Ward Clerk, Stake Missionary, basketball coach and was a devoted home teacher. He met Naomi Read when they were both in the Service. They were married on August 6, 1947 and later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They have had 47 1/2 years of happy married life.

Survived by wife, Naomi; four children, Pamela, Murray, Utah; Lynell and Karl Sala, West Valley, Utah; Mauny and Keith Burkhart, Magna, Utah; and Monty and Debra, Livermore, California; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Claire Pierce, Salt Lake City; Gaylon Pierce, West Valley City; sister, Luane Smith, West Valley City; and numerous aunts, uncle and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1994, 12 noon, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 So. Highland Drive, where friends may call on Monday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
