Eagles' Kotite benches Cunningham

PHILADELPHIA - A day after Philadelphia lost its fifth straight game, Eagles coach Rich Kotite benched Randall Cunningham in favor of Bubby Brister for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.Last week, Kotite hinted he might make a change after Cunningham threw a late-game interception that was returned 96 yards for a touchdown in a loss to Dallas. Cunningham threw another late interception in Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh.

Kelly to miss 2 games with knee injury

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Buffalo quarterback Jim Kelly will miss the final two games of the regular season after spraining his left knee late in the Bills' loss to Minnesota on Sunday.

An MRI exam showed a stretched anterior cruciate ligament, but team doctors told Kelly they want to check again in three days to make sure there wasn't also a minor tear.

Fenner faces charges after arrest

CINCINNATI - Cincinnati running back Derrick Fenner faces multiple charges after his arrest in an early morning incident in a bar.

Fenner was arraigned in Hamilton County Municipal Court on charges of resisting arrest, inciting to violence and disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Chargers' Seau undergoes MRI

SAN DIEGO - San Diego linebacker Junior Seau underwent MRI exams on his neck, left shoulder and left knee. The Chargers expected to have the results today.

LSU hires DiNardo; other coaching changes

BATON ROUGE, La. - Gerry DiNardo, 18-26 record in 4 years at Vanderbilt, signed a 5-year contract with Louisiana State. LSU fired Curley Hallman last month.

At Richmond, Va., Boston College defensive coordinator Jim Reid returned to Richmond as head coach. He was an assistant in 1992 under Jim Marshall, who did no receive a new contract after the team finished 3-8.

And at Athens, Ohio, Air Force assistant Jim Grobe replaced fired Tom Lichtenberg at Ohio University. The Bobcats were 0-11 this season.
