Clarence Russell Poulton, age 90, passed away December 11, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born July 29, 1904 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Clarence William and Annie Watson Poulton. Married Gladys Louise Hawkes on September 10, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on July 1, 1990.Active member of the LDS Church, where he served in various capacities. Served in the German-Austrian mission from 1927-1930.
Employee of Mountain States Telephone Co. for 40 years. Telephone Communication Manager at Camp Kearns during World War II. A talented musician, he played in numerous dance bands during the 20's and 30's. Performed on the first broadcast of KSL radio. Member of Telephone Pioneers.
Survived by daughter, Donna P. Phillips (Jack) of Salt Lake City; son, Stanford R. Poulton (Penny) of Placentia, California; three sisters, Norma P. Petersen of Whittier, California, Agnes P. Woodbury of Salt Lake City, Utah and Blanche P. Varley of Chico, California; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday December 15, 1994, 2 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
