SHARE VARIETY OF FESTIVE GOODIES ARE ON TAP FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON

A variety of Christmas-related events are scheduled throughout the holiday season in Utah County. The calendar includes:

Friday, Dec. 2- The Provo Community Yule Fair, sponsored by the Provo Senior Citizens and the Provo Parks and Recreation Department, will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Eldred Center, 270 W. 500 North. Admission is free.

- Provo's Festival of Christmas Historical Home Tour and boutiques. Tour times are from noon to 7 p.m. Maps of historical homes featured in Provo and Orem are available at the Festival of Christmas office next to the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce, in the Historic County Courthouse, 51 S. University Ave. Cost is $2.50 per person, $2 for senior citizens and $5 per family.

Saturday, Dec. 3

- The Provo Community Yule Fair continues, sponsored by the Provo Senior Citizens and the Provo Parks and Recreation Department, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Eldred Center, 270 W. 500 North. Admission is free.

- The Festival of Christmas Historical Home tour and boutiques continue. University Ave. Cost is $2.50 per person, $2 for senior citizens and $5 per family.

- The sixth annual Dalton Brothers Sub-for-Santa Concert, "A Hometown Christmas," will be presented at 7:30 p.m. at Payson High School. Cost is $15 per family (up to six people), $4 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets will be available at the door and in Payson at Zions Bank, First Security Bank, Mountain View Hospital and the Utah County Journal. Proceeds will go to the United Way of Utah County Sub-for-Santa.

Sunday, Dec. 4

- The Christmas Chorus, directed by Martha Sargent, presents its annual Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle. The chorus will be joined this year by Kim Asay's Utah Children's Choir. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

Monday, Dec. 5

- The sixth annual Dalton Brothers Sub-for Santa Concert, "A Hometown Christmas," will be presented at 7:30 p.m. at Payson High School. Cost is $15 per family (up to six people), $4 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets will be available at the door and in Payson at Zions Bank, First Security Bank, Mountain View Hospital and the Utah County Journal. Proceeds will go to the United Way of Utah County Sub-for-Santa.

- The SCERA Children's Chorus will present a concert of selected sacred and secular hymns at 7:30 p.m. at Lakeridge Junior High School in Orem. For more information about the concert or other SCERA programs, call the SCERA at 225-2569.

Thursday, Dec. 8

- The Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce presents its annual Shakespeare Feast and evening of theater beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Historic County Courthouse. Entertainment includes jugglers, jesters and madrigals. Dinner will be catered by Viking's Feast and includes roast baron of beef, smoked chicken, wassail, vegetables, fruits and breads. Cost is $25 per person or $45 per couple. Dress is semiformal. Call 379-2555.

- Stories by the Hearth, an old-fashioned storytelling session, will be presented at the Springville Art Shop, 446 S. 200 East, Springville. Storytelling for children is at 4 p.m. at a cost of $1 per person. Storytelling for adults is at 7:30 p.m., $5 per couple or $3 per person. Tickets are available at the Book Mark bookstore, 717 N. Main.

Sunday, Dec. 11

- The Christmas Chorus, directed by Martha Sargent, presents its annual Christmas concert for the public and patients at the Utah State Hospital at 8 p.m. in the hospital chapel, 1300 W. Center, Provo. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

- The Salt Lake Symphonic Choir, under the direction of George Welch, will sing with the American Fork Children's Choir, under the direction of Merrilee Barratt, at 7 p.m. in the American Fork High School auditorium. The performance is free to the public.

Thursday, Dec. 15

- The VIP Strings, a performing arm of the VIP Foundation for Young performers, has been invited to share the spotlight with the Florence J. Madsen Memorial Chorus at their annual Christmas Concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Women's Council Building, 310 W. 500 North (next to the Eldred Center), Provo. Admission is free.
