Hugh Kohler Coleman, age 77, died November 30, 1994.
He was born September 22, 1917 to Hugh Clotworthy and Alyce Rose Kohler Coleman in Midway, Utah. He married Ruth Murdock, who preceded him in death January 26, 1983. March 1, 1985 he married Donna Giles Lemmon. He was preceded in death by a son, Hugh M. Coleman, who died July 19, 1983. He moved to St. George after the death of his wife and son.Mr. Coleman grew up in Midway, Utah. He was a meat cutter at Safeway Stores for 15 years. Beginning as a hobby he worked in construction, building homes for the remainder of his working life. The Coleman Construction Company was awarded the First Place Medal for Utah's Distinguished Custom Home Builders in the State of Utah. An excellent craftsman, he did beautiful work building children's furniture and toys.
He was an active member of the LDS Church. He held several executive jobs in the church, counselor in the bishopric, Elders Quorum president, High Priest group leader, pres. of Seventies and financial clerk. He was an Eagle Scout and received the Silver Beaver Award. He lived life to the fullest. He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, Coleen Coleman, Fremont, Calif.; grandsons, Chris Coleman, Salt Lake City; Travis Coleman, Salt Lake City; Shane Coleman, Bellevue, Washington; stepchildren, Lynette Staheli, St. George; Robert (Claudia) Lemmon, Las Vegas; Larry (Debbie) Lemmon, Las Vegas; and Linda (Jerry) Bach, of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Funeral services will be held in the Bloomington Stake Center, 200 West Brigham Road, Saturday, December 3, at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the chapel, 12:30-1:30 prior to services. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 5, 1 p.m. at the Midway City Cemetery, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
