SHARE 8 GET GRANTS FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The Economic Development Corporation of Utah has awarded $19,346 in matching grants to eight Utah entities for sponsorships, professional development and marketing programs, bringing to $180,000 the amount of money the organization has awarded in recent years.

Receiving money were the Six County Economic Development District, $750; Box Elder County, $750; Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, $3,000; Utah Information Technologies Association, $4,000; Metro Utah, $2,000; West Jordan Chamber of Commerce, $1,229; Salt Lake County Export Assistance Program, $5,000; and Millard County, 2,617.D.N. Rose, chairman of EDCU's Grant Committee, said, "Each grant, though limited in size, can provide an enormous amount of support as a community promotes itself through professional development of key staff, targeted marketing materials and promotional events."

EDCU is a private/public non-profit organization that serves as a catalyst for increased capital investment and quality job growth in Utah.
