SHARE CLINTONS PLAN TO ATTEND YEARLY RENAISSANCE RETREAT

President Clinton plans to spend New Year's weekend mixing R&R with some R&D at an annual retreat in South Carolina for policy seminars and golf.

The president and his wife have headed for Hilton Head Island once a year for a decade to attend the intellectual Renaissance Weekend bash. "They enjoy themselves there and the friends they have made," a spokesman for the first lady said Thursday.Laying out the Clinton holiday schedule, the White House said the first family will attend church services on Christmas Eve in Washington and spend the rest of the week relaxing with family members at the executive mansion.

She said the Clintons will leave Washington for Hilton Head on Friday and return Jan. 1.
