CONDENSE GATT INTO 1 PARAGRAPH

SHARE CONDENSE GATT INTO 1 PARAGRAPH

If GATT were about free trade, it could be drafted in one paragraph, as follows:

"The parties to this accord do hereby agree to remove all tariffs, customs and duties from goods and services that are sold across the national borders between and among said parties. The parties further agree to remove all legal restrictions on such trade, excepting only statutes dealing with fraud, product safety and criminal negligence, the violation of which shall be subject to adjudication in a court of competent jurisdiction in the nation and state wherein the violation occurred, under existing international law."Instead, we have 22,000 pages of new trade regulations, a multitude of new bureaucracies to enforce those regulations and another barrel full of nails in the coffin of our republic.
