SHARE DEATH: GERTRUDE VIESTENZ TOLAR

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Gertrude Elizabeth Hall Viestenz Tolar, 82, passed away December 4, 1994 at home after a lengthy illness.

Born March 16, 1912 in Leeton, Utah to John and Anna Luzella Lee Hall. She married Merlin Orlando McKenna on September 4, 1928 Vernal, Utah. Later divorced. Married Walter Viestenz in January 1953 Elko, Nevada. Later Divorced. Married John L. Tolar June 1984 in Elko, Nevada.She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW, served as President for the State of Utah Ladies VFW Auxiliary. Voted Mrs. VFW by the VFW. She was recipient of the Patriotism Award for the Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge.

Survived by her husband John of Salt Lake City, one daughter, Myrna M. Hurst and husband Paul of Irving, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, one brother, Carl Hall and wife Reva of Roosevelt, Utah. Preceded in death by two daughters Margie Peaslee and Sharron Capps.

Trudy leaves a legacy of strength and love that we will pass down for generations. She will be missed.

Funeral services will be held noon, Wednesday, December 7, 1994 at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 Highland Drive, there will be a viewing Tuesday 6 to 8 pm and Wednesday prior to services 10:45 to 11:45 am.

Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and N Street.
