SHARE PLAN BOOSTS BUDGET - BUT NOT PROPERTY TAXES

The Washington County Commission has come up with a 1995 budget plan including an increase of more than $1 million, but without a hike in the property tax rate.

Every county department will see a funding increase, with the largest percentage increase going to the Environmental and Public Lands Special Council Department - up 54 percent from $90,800 to $140,200.In dollars, public safety departments would receive the largest funding increase, a combined $355,000 hike. Public safety programs would receive more than $2.28 million compared to $1.93 million in 1994.

The final budget will be voted on Dec. 12.
