Now Dan Quayle won't eat broccoli, either.

Quayle was released from Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis on Tuesday, eight days after being diagnosed with blood clots on his lungs. His doctors advised him to cut back on his green vegetables, which produce clotting factors. He's also taking blood thinners that prevent new clots from forming.

"To the public I would say I'm on the mend," Quayle said.

And what about his future plans? Quayle said he'll decide early next year whether to run for president in 1996.
