After only 18 months of operation, the Gateway Cinemas Six is adding two more movie screens to meet its growing business demand.
According to Gary Frank, business consultant for Consolidated Theaters, Gateway is adding about 1,800 square feet of building to create two more movie auditoriums at 206 S. 625 West."We expected they would be busy," Frank said of Gateway's current six theaters, which opened in May 1993. He said the company included an expansion in its master plan.
Gateway Six has two large auditoriums and four small ones. The two new screens will be comparable to the small ones.
"We'll be open as soon as possible," he said.
Frank said the current construction is posing only minor inconveniences to moviegoers and the current six screens are open as usual. He said completion of the project depends largely on the weather cooperating.
"It's been a very good location," Frank said.
Gateway Six is located in a busy new shopping area that includes ShopKo, Ernst, Chuck-A-Rama and other stores.
