Ethel Elizabeth Bowden, 81, of Vernal, Utah, died December 5, 1994 in Vernal.

She was born August 4, 1913 in Roosevelt, Utah, a daughter of George Albert and Ethel DeFriez Bowden. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held numerous positions in the church including Vernal Fifth Ward Historian, name extraction worker, Primary teacher, Relief Society Visiting Teacher and many others. She enjoyed needlework, including making alter cloths for the temples, genealogy and gardening. She was a member of the business and professional women's club and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Camp Tokawana.She was greatly loved by her family, including 66 grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alvin Bowden and Wesley Bowden. She is survived by her sister, Ardith Allred, Roosevelt; and sister-in-laws, Eva Bowden and Eunice Bowden both of Vernal, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 1994, 11 a.m. at the Vernal First Ward Chapel, friends may call at Thomson's Vernal Mortuary Friday evening, 7-9 p.m. and at the chapel one hour to services on Saturday, burial in the Vernal Memorial Park.
