Nola (Magnola) Higbee Palfreyman, 81, died Tuesday, December 6, 1994 at her home.

She was born February 24, 1913 in Toquerville, Utah to Edwin Richard and Eva Page Higbee. She married Eugene R Palfreyman March 11, 1933 in St. George, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Eugene preceded her in death September 28, 1993.She was raised and attended schools in Toquerville and St. George. After their marriage, she and her husband moved to Springville where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving in several positions. She was a member of the Ladys Lions. During Art City Days Mom and Dad were major participants at the Lion's Chuck Wagon Breakfast Booth. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association. Mom would like to be remembered for her volunteer work with Springville City and the Beautification Committee. She was the chairperson and a committee member on that committee for several years. She was also the force and drive behind Springville receiving the Tidy Town Award in 1987. Her Hillcrest neighborhood won the Neighborhood Beautification Award for several years. Mom and Dad enjoyed the outdoors with friends and family and traveled extensively throughout the world.

She is survived by four daughters and three sons: Noleen Boulter, Carson City, Nevada; Robert E. Palfreyman and wife, Colleen, Springville; Clark Palfreyman and wife, Aldeen, Springville; Gena Harness and husband, Eddie, Springville; Ann Weight, Mapleton; Sherry Roper and husband, Max, Springville; Derk Palfreyman and wife, Karen, Salem; 41 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother: Wilma Kemp, Santa Clara; Maree and Dean Gardner, St. George; Gena and Mel Hirschi, Tameccula, Calif.; Lamond and Janice Higbee, Winnemucca, Nev. She was preceded in death by one sister, Eleen Harris, St. George.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Springville Stake Center, 245 So. 600 East. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. or Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
