The Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games unveiled details of the 250-acre Olympic Village and International Festival Area, where 15,000 Olympic participants will be housed during the 1996 Games.

"We wanted to create a central gathering place for athletes where they could have interviews with the media, meet with mom and dad, or just mingle," said Alan Boyer, deputy director of the Olympic Village. "We think we have done that."
