Our loving mother, grandmother Iris Nielsen, 81, passed away Dec. 6, 1994 in Orem, Utah.

Born May 19, 1913 in Fairview, Wyoming to Theras O. and Florence Porter Allred. Iris married R. Gordon Nielsen, July 27, 1939 in the LDS Logan Temple. He preceded her in death May 4, 1994.Iris was an avid genealogist and reader, she enjoyed LDS Church and U.S. History. She served in the MIA for 17 consecutive years, also served in numerous positions and callings within her ward and stake. She and her husband served a mission as directors of the Historic Liberty Jail Visitors Center.

She is survived by her children: G. LeGrand (Marilyn) Nielsen, West Jordan, Utah; F. Nadine Rogers, Orem, Utah; J. Boyd (Karen) Nielsen, North Ogden, Utah; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Marguerite Stickland Allred, Wendell (Virginia) Allred, Joye (Rulon) Cluff - currently serving a mission in Latvia, former Soviet Union - all of Provo; McKay (Velma) Allred, Boulder, Colo.; Olga (Alma) Nicol, Midway, Utah; Quella (Karl) Hart, Gilbert, Ariz.; Elaine (Keith) Hawkins, Highland, Utah; Worth (Ludean) Allred, Moroni, Utah; Forrest (Emily) Allred, Aberdeen, South Dakota; Noreen (Dennis) Hess, Orem, Utah; Carol (Vern) Bean, Frederick, Maryland. Preceded in death by two brothers: Theras Quathel and Avard Orson Allred.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 1994 at 11 a.m. at the Timpanogos Park 4th Ward, 955 North 255 East, Orem, Utah, where friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment Provo City Cemetery. Arranged by Memorial Estates.
