SHARE LEO PIGNANELLI, EX-S.L. OFFICIAL, DIES AT AGE 71

Leonardo "Leo" Antonio Pignanelli, 71, former supervisor for 42 years of the Salt Lake City Parks and Recreation Department, died of natural causes Dec. 8, 1994, at his Salt Lake home.

He promoted athletic activities for children and young adults and was superintendent of Salt Lake Boys and Girls Clubs.Mr. Pignanelli received numerous awards for his efforts in developing youth softball leagues and other activities. For many years he was the announcer for the Salt Lake Bees baseball team.

He graduated from West High School, where he was an all-state basketball player and student body president. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake, 414 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 E. 100 South. A committal service will be held following the Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T St.
