Melvin Henry Buckway, 65, died February 15, 1994 in Murray, Utah, after a 20-year long illness.

Born August 15, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to George Jacob Buckway, Sr. and Annie Marie Bohn. Married G. Eileen Murphy, October 14, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Melvin was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. High Priest. Served a mission to the North Central States. He held many positions in the church. Temple worker.Survived by wife; sons, Gary Melvin Buckway, Sr., Brent Bradley Buckway, Sr.; daughter, Melaneen Marie DeWaal; 11 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Hazel I. Anderson; brothers, Carl Boekweg, George J. Buckway, Jr., Leland G. Buckway, Joseph Buckway; sisters, Virginia Potkins, Marie Breinholt. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Edwin and David Buckway.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 1994, 11 a.m., Westbrook 7th Ward, 6364 South 3200 West. Friends may call Fri. 6-8 p.m., Mt. View Memorial Estates Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Primary Children's Hospital "For Heidi".
