ProvoThe community development department will hold meetings in the next two months to gather information to update Provo's general plan.
There will be one meeting for each City Council area of the city. Residents are invited to comment on such issues as long-term goals, location and types of growth and infrastructure needs. Residents may attend any or all of the meeting regardless of where they live.
Meetings, which begin at 7 p.m., will be held:
- March 2 at Canyon Crest Elementary School, 4664 N. Canyon Road.
- March 16 at Grandview Elementary School, 1591 N. Jordan.
- March 30 at Provost Elementary School, 629 S. 1000 East.
- April 6 at Sunset View Elementary School, 525 S. 1600 West.
- April 14 at Provo City Council chambers, 351 W. Center St.

Provo
In its Feb. 22 meeting, the Provo City Council will in its study session:
- Discuss innkeeper tax revenue, an emergency shelter grant application, Provo Park Hotel parking terrace fee increase and appropriating $765,000 to buy Brigham Young Academy.
In its regular session the council will:
- Consider amending the general plan to change the future use of property from 900 to 1060 South west of State from heavy commercial and low-density residential to medium-density residential.
- Consider annexing property from 1700 to 2000 South on State Street.
- Consider annexing property in the area of 5000 North to 5200 N. Canyon Road.
- Consider appropriating $300,000 in the capital improvement fund to replace broken sidewalks throughout the city.
- Consider appropriating $35,457 in the library fund for the Hispanic Outreach Project and the purchase of books and audio/visual materials.
- Appoint members of the Youth Services Board.
- Consider raising green fees and season passes at East Bay Golf Course. City officials propose nine-hole fees be $7 on weekdays and $8 on weekends. Seven-day regular season passes would be $525 and senior passes would be $475.
The council study session begins at 5:30 p.m. and the regular council meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the City Center, 351 W. Center St.
