- Women's basketball - The University of Utah women's basketball, team winner of eight of its last nine games, including last week's 62-51 win over BYU, closes its home season this week, beginning with tonight's game against Fresno State. Game time is 7:30 pm in the Huntsman Center.

- Women's tennis - Sophomore Jennifer Saret was named WAC Tennis Player of the Week (Feb. 14-19) for her stellar play at No. 1 singles and doubles against Texas A&M and Florida.

- Track - The fourth WAC Track and Field Indoor Championships to include women on the meet agenda comes up Friday and Saturday at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

BYU's women tracksters, undefeated so far in the WAC at both indoor and outdoor championships, will be represented by a group of 25.

- Women's golf - A final round of 312 strokes, caused mostly by a bad front nine, dropped BYU's women's team to 14th place at the Conquistadores/Chris Johnson Invitational Wednesday.

Lisa Christie had 75, Ai Lian Lim 77, Doreena Ng 79, Stephanie Brockbank 81 and Kara Weitz 83. Arizona State won the team title with 869 strokes.

- Men's golf - Sophomore Todd Pence shot an opening round 70, to put the BYU men's golf team in fourth-place after the first round of the 18th Annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate Tournament.

Pence's efforts resulted in an 11th place tie with five other golfers going into the second round on the Kaneohe Klipper course.

- Wrestling - Senior Jim Ellis of BYU ended the Cougars' dual with Wyoming by pinning Jon Parson in the first period, but the Cowboys escaped with the win, 19-18.

Wyoming improved its record to 7-6, while BYU dropped to 2-10.
