Several of my neighbors have been crowing because they say that Sandy's new mayor has confided in them that he will shortly force the Cottonwood Sanitary District to tear down its new building on 2000 East.

I don't like the looks of the building either, but there needs to be some reality injected into this "done deal." Don't people realize that this building was paid for by taxpayers? If it is torn down, it will be paid for either by Cottonwood Sanitary District taxpayers or Sandy City taxpayers.

The fights and lawsuits that have already occured were paid for on both sides by taxpayers. I understand that those lawsuits have already cost the taxpayers over $300,000. Even if Mayor Dolan tears down the building, it will be replaced somewhere else by the taxpayers.

Mayor Dolan should be reasonable and try to keep our taxes down as much as possible. He was elected to represent people, all of the people in Sandy, not just a vindictive few who don't care how much of our money he spends.
