SOLDIER SENTENCED: A 25-year-old Canadian soldier was sentenced to five years in prison and given a dishonorable discharge Friday in Petawawa, Ontario, for his role in the beating death of a 16-year-old boy in Somalia. Pvt. Elvin Kyle Brown was sentenced by the same five-officer military court that convicted him Wednesday of manslaughter and torture. It was the first torture conviction in Canada.
