George M. Holindrake, 81, sweetheart to one, father to two, grandfather to five, great-grandfather to two, and friend to many, died March 17, 1994 at his home.

He was born in American Fork, Utah on August 24, 1912 to Emma Winn and John Robert Holindrake. He attended school in American Fork and following graduation attended BYU.On April 16, 1936 he married his sweetheart, Maxine Austin, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He served in the U. S. Army from 1943-1945 stationed at Fort Stevens, Oregon. George was an active and devoted member of the church who was a high priest in the East Millcreek 4th Ward, and fulfilled many callings throughout his life. He worked 36 years for Amoco Oil, and after retirement in 1977 enjoyed traveling with his sweetheart, golfing with dear friends, and being a devoted father and grandfather. His family was the center of his life, and even when life's challenges arose, his loyalty and commitment to his loved ones never wavered. His kind, compassionate spirit spread to not only his family, but to neighbors and many dear friends.

Our special thanks to Dr. Larry Staker, Judy Ahue and the staff of Community Nursing Services, for their gentle and loving care.
