ELECTION: The African National Congress won't consider any delay of the nation's first all-race election, Nelson Mandela said Tuesday. Groups opposing the April 26-28 election want it postponed to allow further negotiations and international mediation of their demands for autonomous or independent states in post-apartheid South Africa. But Mandela, whose ANC is expected to win the election, told a news conference that "there is no possibility whatsoever of us shifting on this stance. If we did that, even our own members of the ANC would hang us."
