A Salt Lake man was seriously injured in a rollover in the foothills above Pleasant Grove Tuesday shortly after noon after he was reportedly kidnapped from the West Valley area.

Detective Jerry Monson of the Utah County Sheriff's Department said Ceasar Cabar-ales, 18, was reportedly forced at gunpoint to drive into the hills by a man who brandished a handgun at Cabarales at a convenience store in West Valley City. The man is described as a white male between 30 and 35 years old with short blond hair, about 5 feet 11 inches, 150 pounds, clean-shaven wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and sunglasses.

Cabarales was driving a new Chevy S-10 four-wheel-drive pickup and heading down a very steep part of the mountain, said Monson. At some point the kidnapper apparently jumped from the vehicle before it rolled. He is still at large.
