The Bonneville Lakers won a wild one in a wild way, edging Layton, 5-4.

In the bottom of the sixth, Nate Budge hit a triple for Bonneville and then scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.In the top of the seventh, Laker center fielder BJ Hernandez pulled off a rare double play to end the game. After catching a fly ball he gunned down the tying run at the plate.

Taylorsville 7, Hunter 3

Taylorsville stayed unbeaten in Region 3 on the strength of doubles by Chris Lyman and Brandon Ballard.

Bingham 8, West 7 (9)

The Miners grabbed sole possession of second place in Region 3. Burke Nelson pitched the eighth and ninth innings and got the win.

West 12, East 5

In this makeup game Rod Madsen was the dominant player. He went 2-3 at the plate with four RB1's and only allowed one run in over four innings of pitching.

Granger 12, Kearns 8

Troy Farnsworth helped make himself the winning pitcher by hitting a homer. Zack Hinckley also had two doubles and a home run for Granger.

Jamie Jeffords got both the save and a homer for the Bruins. Milt Gill was the winning pitcher.

Orem 4, Brighton 1

Orem pitcher David Norton had seven strikeouts in six innings to lead the Tigers over the Bengals.

Bear River 14, Box Elder 4

Riley Nelson hit a grand slam in the fifth to put the Bees away. Reggie Anger pitched five innings and hit a home run.

The Grizzlies scored four runs with two outs in the seventh inning to register the comeback win. Craig Carlson's base hit was misplayed into an inside-the-park homer for three of the runs.

Thursday game

Ben Lomond 9, Ogden 2 Jared Hill led the Scots in this Region 5 game that was rescheduled to Thursday. Hill only gave up one walk in seven innings and also hit a home run for the Scots.
