Former workers of Forwest Drilling Inc., Roosevelt, who explored and drilled for crude oil and natural gas, have been certified eligible for Federal Trade Act benefits, according to Terry O. Burns, unemployment insurance director for the Utah Department of Employment Security.
The benefits are available to Forwest workers laid off on or after Jan. 10, 1993, and before March 9, 1996. They include trade act unemployment insurance, job search and relocation allowances and payment of approved training.Trade-effected workers filing for weekly trade act unemployment insurance payments must be enrolled in training or have a waiver of the training enrollment requirement in order to receive the payments. Burns suggests that workers separated from this company during the covered period report to their nearest Job Service office to apply for the benefits.
