Nancy Kerrigan skidded and Oksana Baiul vamped in their first meeting since that bit of unpleasantness at the Olympics.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, 13-year-old Michelle Kwan has the lead heading into the free skate at the U.S. Pro-Am Championships.Kwan held her own against Caryn Kadavy, professionals Rosalyn Sumners and Elaine Zayak and fellow amateur Nicole Bobek heading into tonight's free skate.

Kerrigan slipped on an easy turn and wound up on her rear end during a pro-am exhibition. It was the Olympic silver medalist's first appearance on ice since a peevish exit from the Games.

A few minutes later, Kerrigan repeated the routine sans skid, and viewers who see the tape-delayed performance on television probably won't be the wiser.

Baiul, the Ukrainian who beat Kerrigan for the gold medal in Norway, ground her 16-year-old hips and flirted. She did not cry.
