University of Utah freshman sensation Ali Andrus stifled the visiting Utah State Aggies, 4-0, in the first game of Thursday's double header with Utah State, but the day ended in a wash, with USU taking game two, 4-3.

Andrus struck out 10 and allowed just two hits en route to her eighth shutout of the season. She is now 13-2 overall. Utah jumped on the Aggies early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first.Deb DiMeglio ripped a two-run double off the center field fence and scored on Cyndee Bennett's RBI single down the left field line.

Utah added an insurance run in the fifth, when Andi Moore belted a triple and scored on Stacie Reynolds' two-out double.

In the second game, a barrage of Aggie doubles knocked Ute starter Bennett from the mound in the fourth inning. Two-out doubles by Michelle Munoz, Tanya Norton and Julie Tanner pushed Utah State to a 3-1 lead.

The 11th-ranked Utes are now 28-6. Utah State is 10-10. Utah was to meet No. 5 Fresno State Friday today at 1:30 p.m.
